L2O shut its doors on New Year's Eve, just before the start of 2015. L2O was a high-end seafood focused restaurant located in the Belden-Stratford Apartments in Lincoln Park, Chicago. L2O was awarded two Michelin stars in the 2013 and 2014 guides, after Matthew Kirkley was named the chef. The wine list at L2O received Wine Spectator's Best of Award of Excellence under the direction of sommelier Richard Hanauer.

With inventive dishes, beautiful plating, and impeccable service, dining at L2O was an experience to remember for those lucky enough to score a reservation.

In an interview with Eater, Rich Melman, founder of Lettuce Entertain You (LEYE) which owned L2O, said "(L2O) had never been a money maker for us. As with all restaurants, it's all about volume. I don't want to do four-star restaurants anymore, at least for the foreseeable future. Three partners came out of L2O and it was successful in that way."

We are sad to see L2O go! Thank you Matthew Kirkley, Richard Hanauer, and LEYE for the impact you have had on Chicago dining.

Best wishes,
